Help us to Help the Homeless in Hamilton

Sandwich Making for the Men's Street Mission
Our sandwich making continues throughout the year so we appreciate your assistance with sandwich making and delivery and with sandwich making supplies and ingredients!  Barb Mierau and Jane Lee will alternate in leading our bi-weekly sandwich making, so if you are on one of our three teams of sandwich makers (Sunday after church, Monday morning or afternoon), you will hear from them when they need help with sandwiches.

What Do We Need?
We are looking for donations of non-perishable items like tins of tuna, salmon, Miracle Whip/mayonnaise, sandwich bags, pudding cups, fruit cups, and plastic spoons. These can be dropped off in the atrium on any Sunday. Coffee trays can also be dropped off any Sunday.

Financial donations to help support our sandwich mission are also appreciated. If you have any questions or would like to help, please contact Barb Mierau or Jane Lee.

Thanks for your continued support!

Volunteer from home! If you have some spare time and want to help us stay connected to those who don't have computers, and you can make six phone calls per week, please contact the church office to volunteer. We'll even provide you with the script of what to say.

ST. JAMES MASK MAKERS

Over 4000 masks have been made to date with thousands of dollars raised for local charities. For information on our Mask Ministry please go to:

History

St. James United Church has been serving the spiritual needs of the Waterdown community for nearly two centuries. Formed in 1828 as Waterdown Methodist Church, we joined in the forming of the United Church of Canada in 1925 and became Waterdown United Church, then between 1957-1961 we moved from our old small stone building on Mill Street to the current location on Parkside and became St. James United Church. Through all these years we have continued to try to put Christ’s love into action in Waterdown.
